Note:

(i) “Others” who have worked for 5 years in the State/Central Government [ie, those not belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Castes (A), Scheduled Tribes, MBC/AD, Backward Classes and BCM, are not. Eligible regardless of age limit.

(ii) Applicants claiming “Destitute widow” must have “downgraded widow certificate” obtained from the Revenue Divisional Officer/ Deputy Collector/ Assistant Collector on or before the date of declaration of her total monthly income from all sources (including any). pension or other receipts and income from private practice) for self-employed Rs. 4,000/- (Rupees Four Thousand only). Only those candidates who hold “Independent Widow Certificate” as on the date of notification are eligible for fee waiver. A divorced person cannot claim reservation under destitute widow section. The maximum age mentioned above shall not apply to the following categories of candidates:-

(i) For persons with disabilities (other than blindness and low vision)*:

Persons with permanent disability (i.e. disability not less than 40%) are eligible for relaxation up to ten years in addition to the prescribed age limit, otherwise they are found to be absolutely fit and eligible for the post of no disability, who are unable to effectively perform their elected duties.

Such applicants vide G.O. dated 27.07.2018. to be informed about. (Ms.) No. 28, the certificate prescribed by the Department of Persons with Disabilities (DAP 3.1) and the certificate as prescribed by the Government of India in the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2017. (ii) For Ex-Servicemen:-

(a) Upper age limit for SC, SC category is 55 years** as on 01.07.2024. (A), S.T., M.B.C./D.C., B.C. and B.C.M. Not related.

(b) Upper age limit 50 years** as on 01.07.2024 SC, SC. (A), S.T., M.B.C./D.C., B.C. and B.C.M. Not related. (Section 63 of the Tamil Nadu Government Servants (Conditions of Service) Act, 2016) [For definition of ‘Ex-Serviceman’, see Para 3(g) of ‘Instructions for Candidates’]

(iii) For National Cadet Corps:-

Madras High Court Recruitment : Ex-NCC Cadets who joined NCC on full-time basis on or after 1 January 1963. Candidates working as Junior Officer, Instructor or Sergeant-Major Instructor in IAS category can also apply if they fulfill all the prescribed qualifications except age. He got N.C.C. The actual length of service rendered as a junior officer, instructor or sergeant-major-instructor is allowed to be deducted from their age. If they are found to be otherwise fit, the relevant age rule will be relaxed in their favor.

(iv) Bonded labor, etc. Can apply. They shall submit a certificate in the form mentioned in Annexure-F to ‘Instructions for Candidates’ from the authority competent to issue social certificate to show that they have complied with the provisions of the Bonded Labor (Abolition) Act. , 1976. Under which, he was freed from slavery.

(v) Retired or Temporary Government Servants: Retired or Temporary Government Servants** who have not attained the age of 42 years on 01.07.2024 will be counted from their age as the period of actual service (even if continuous) under the Government. Upto the date of notification or continuous absence) is allowed as deduction. Explanation: Retired State Government servant means a person who was in the employment of the Government and who has been discharged due to retrenchment or any other reason in the organization but not due to disciplinary action. (Section 61 of the Tamil Nadu Government Servants (Conditions of Service) Act, 2016). (vi) For certain categories of candidates with higher educational qualification:

The upper age limit mentioned above does not apply to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Castes (Arunthathiyar, Tribes, Backward Classes (except Muslims belonging to Backward Classes), Backward Classes, Most Backward Classes and Backward Communities or the Indigent. Candidates who have passed Pre-University Examination or Secondary Examination or Diploma awarded by Tamil Nadu State Board of Technical Education and Training or Government or any other State-recognized Institute or Board are not eligible for widows of all castes. Govt or Central Govt. [See Explanation to Section 20(8) of the Tamil Nadu Government Servants (Conditions of Service) Act, 2016]. Explanation: A candidate who has passed only one or two parts of the Pre-University or Higher Level Examination or Diploma will not be deemed to have passed the above examination.

General Instructions to candidates while attending Written Examination:
  1. Madras High Court Recruitment : Candidates must dress decently and reach the examination hall with their hall ticket 30 minutes before the commencement of the examination.
  2. Candidates must appear for the exam at the venue mentioned in the hall ticket. Change of venue will not be allowed.
  3. Candidates will have to show the Hall Ticket to the Invigilator/Chief Invigilator/Inspecting Officers at the examination center when asked for verification.
  4. Candidates should show the Hall Ticket issued by Judicial Recruitment Cell, High Court of India, Madras to the invigilator for verification.
  5. Candidates will have to maintain strict discipline at the examination center.
  6. Candidates found smoking or in an inebriated condition or found fighting in any manner or misbehaving with the Chief Invigilator or Inspecting Officers or Invigilators or any other applicant appearing for the examination at the examination venue are liable to be dealt with severely, including appropriate criminal action.
  7. Candidates are not allowed to bring any devices such as cellular phones, calculators, watches and rings, or devices with inbuilt memory notes or any other electronic devices and non-electronic devices such as P&G design data books, books, notes, hand bags and recording devices which are a separate piece or part of something used by the applicant such as a watch or ring etc.
  8. Madras High Court Recruitment :If they are found to be in possession of any of the above specified items or devices, they will not be allowed to appear for the examination, also the answer sheet will be invalidated and/or the examination will be debarred.
  9. Tea, coffee, snacks, soft drinks etc will not be allowed inside the examination venue
  10. Candidates must carry only ball point pen (blue or black) and hall ticket to the examination hall. Other material is not allowed in the examination hall.
  11. Candidates are required to write their Register Number in the space provided in the Question Booklet.
  12. Candidates must not remove or tear any sheets from the Question Booklet and they are not allowed to take the Question Booklet and Answer Sheet out of the examination room.
  13. The Optical Mark Reader (OMR) Answer sheet should be handled carefully by the
    candidates.
  14. The candidate has to put his/her signature in the box provided in the OMR answer sheet
  15. Candidates must ensure that they return the OMR answer sheet to the invigilator before leaving the examination hall after the completion of the exam.
  16. In case of any ambiguity regarding darkening of the bubble, the decision of the Judicial Recruitment Cell, High Court of India, Madras shall be final.
  17. Madras High Court Recruitment : Candidates must shade the answer area (answer bubble) of the OMR answer sheet completely, otherwise the answer will not be considered valid.
  18. Borrowing any material, equipment from other candidates during the examination session is strictly prohibited.
  19. Candidates are strictly prohibited from indulging in immoral or disorderly conduct such as consulting other candidates, copying, allowing other candidates to copy from their answer sheet, taking notes, interfering with the invigilator or taking help from outsiders. Violation will result in the candidates being expelled from the examination hall and their answer sheets will be invalid. They will also be barred from the present and future examinations.
  20. Madras High Court Recruitment : No candidate will be allowed to wait longer than the time allotted to answer the paper and no candidate will be allowed to leave the examination hall before the closing time of the examination.

After the applicants have successfully entered all the details, a message will appear in the screen as “You have successfully registered” and an OTP will be sent to the Registered Mobile Number of the applicants. The applicants can login to the website by using their registered e-mail id as the user id, the password and the OTP sent to their registered mobile number.

NOTE:
(i) The applicants are requested not to disclose their login credentials to anyone and the Judicial Recruitment Cell, High Court, Madras will not be responsible for any misuse of data. Registered e-mail ID and registered password of the candidates must be noted and preserved for future use.

(ii) Applicants are advised to have a valid Mobile Number/valid personal E-mail ID. In case the applicants do not have a valid email ID/Mobile Number, they should create their own email ID and obtain mobile number before applying online and must keep the email account/mobile number active throughout the selection process.

(iii) Madras High Court Recruitment : No request regarding change in Mobile Number/E-mail ID will be entertained. High Court will send various intimations relating to the recruitment through SMS/E-Mail only to the Mobile Number / Email ID registered during the process of recruitment.

(iv) The Judicial Recruitment Cell, High Court, Madras will not be responsible in any manner, for non delivery of SMS/email at any stage either due to non-lifting of the mobile phone or if the same is out of coverage area or is out of order due to some technical fault on the part of the candidate or service provider.

(v) It will be the responsibility of the applicants to update himself by visiting the website of the Judicial Recruitment Cell, High Court, Madras, viz., https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in periodically for any important announcement.

(vi) Madras High Court Recruitment : The Judicial Recruitment Cell, High Court, Madras will not be responsible in case of any communication not reaching the applicant due to defect in given address, email ID, mobile number, etc.
